The 13th edition of the Montreal International Documentary Festival (RIDM) runs November 10 to 21, 2010. This year’s event includes screenings of over 100 films from 37 countries, along with over 40 special activities and 60 guests from around the world. The RIDM’s official selection is divided into four sections, offering audiences a variety of perspectives on the world of documentary cinema. Kino Pen is devoted to films that employ a very personal form of writing, intertwining the work of established and up-and-coming filmmakers; Shooting from the Hip takes stock of the big social and political issues; EcoCamera explores scientific and environmental themes; and DocTape is the RIDM’s section for its most eclectic selections presenting bold, daring and clever films frolic between fun and freaky, hardcore and sublime.
